Hi everyone. So I did the genchem videos from Chad's in April and forgot a good bit of it. I am currently redoing quizzes to practice and relearn them. For some of the subjects that I completely forgot, what would be the best way to go about doing it? Rereading the quiz notes and taking it the day of or waiting a day or 2? I believe my notes contain all of what he's said so I don't think I will have to rewatch.

I think if you forgot a good amount of info, or feel uncomfortable about some topics, it would probably be helpful to go over the content again via notes, chad's videos/quizzes, etc. I was learning the content from Chad's through out the semester and when the end of the semester came, I forgot a lot, so I have been studying again since May 4, and spent my first two weeks doing a solid content review, which was definitely worth it.

But once you have a firm grasp....DO DESTROYER!!! I can't emphasize how much it's taught me already!!! It's an ongoing learning experience!

Thanks! I'll be doing content review for 5 days while finishing the ochem and QR vids and hopefully be able to start destroyer when it comes in next week!

If you took detailed notes than you should not have to rewatch the videos. Review your notes and go over some problems that will most likely resolve ur issue. If that does not work try to see if you are actively taking notes. This involves not just writing down whatever you hear from the video but actually trying to understand every detail mentioned and transcribing it into ur own words on paper. Think of it as writing a "how to" guide for gen chem. Write out the concepts, write out steps explaining what is going on and contrast it to similar concepts. Really try to understand 100% of what Chad is saying in the videos before you move onto the next video. If you truly understand everything and have written detailed/active notes than u'll remember for a greater length of time. Thats just my opinion. This has been working for me since I'm an active learner. I just cant listen to something and pick it up for the long run. I have to really interact and try hitting the material from different angles to understand it and retain it for long term. If I find myself forgetting something I just go back to my detailed notes, review and do practice problems. Hope this helps.

yea I believe my notes were "active". I was comparing what he said with notes from the class I've had in the past and looked up stuff on the internet to clear up stuff that i wasn't 100% at. I think I'll be reviewing all of Chads stuff for ochem chem and qr and hit some more Feralis notes for bio then start destroyer monday. Thanks for the advice!
