i just wanted to ask people who did REALLY good on there october pcat, how did u manage ur time when u had to study for the october pcat and ur fall semester classes at the same time, whats the best approach to take. i'm not taking that many classes, but 2 of them are biology classes that take up time, and one of them is history which also takes up alot of time. i havnt had time to study at all this summer...too many things were going on, and now i have the chance!!!!, but my classes are starting...ADVICE PLEASEEEEEE...THANK YOU 🙂

well..i am planing to take the exam in january, am trying not to push my self too hard for now, i will start preparing from tomorrow, am using kaplan book which i think its good, for this fall i will take one course only and work part time as pharm tech, which school you wanna go to, how do you prepare, do you work as pharm tech?

I treated studying for the PCAT like a 3 credit course by studying about six hours a week. Of course, I did some studying during the summer too.

Remember to not lull yourself into thinking that you have more time now. I don't know what your summer schedule was like, but school is like a full time job with PCAT studying mixed into the schedule. You don't want to sacrifice your grades for the PCAT and vice versa.

I'm taking only two courses as well, but they are heavy--Organic I (seems time consuming) and Calculus (I haven't taken math for quite some time, so I need to spend a lot of time on this as well). I'm also working part-time this semester. I was initially planning to take the PCAT in October, but I'm not sure if I will be "ready" by then. I bought the Kaplan PCAT book a week ago, but honestly, I haven't started studying for it as of yet. :scared: I have another question to add to this thread: Do pharmacy schools count it against the applicant if they totally bomb (for the sake of the question, let's say below a 50) the PCAT if they took it their first time, but made considerable improvement their second time around? I know a lot of us haven't taken the PCAT yet and want to take it in October just to see how it is like, but would it count against us if we bombed? Thanks for any feedback on this.

i have the same question..i was suppose to take the exam in january but now i will take it in october, i will try to finish biology of the kaplan by next week..then review chemistry ,,then verbs and math and thats it...i dont know what i will get but i pray

I took the PCAT in october last year... basically, you should be studying every week, paying special attention to subjects that you had a hard time with or just took a long time ago and don't remember well. Two weeks before the test, I studied every day and really drilled general chemistry into my head. Biology and the verbal part are difficult because there is such a variety of subject matter that they can ask you. Of course, I didn't study any calculus or trig, so you might want to drill that into your skull if need be and allocate more time for it... I didn't even realize it would be on the exam! yikes! :scared:

Good luck! And don't worry, it's not that hard. Just breathe and think!
