I am looking to start studying for the DAT. However, I have heard and seen mixed reviews on which studying tools I should use. Some people recommend Kaplan and some recommend Crack the DAT. Which studying tool should I use?

I used dat bootcamp and dat destroyer mainly. Both are very good. I used the free practice tests on dat genius and those were good too, but I had already bought bootcamp and so I thought one program was sufficient🙂

I succeed with following materials (Scores under signature):
- DAT and Math Destroyer
- Bootcamp
- Chad's videos for OC/GC
- AP Cliff's 3rd Ed. for BIO: Start bio with this and start practicing with Destroyer. Know why you get wrong and correct. Supplement with Feralis and AK Lec.
- Feralis BIO notes (supplementary)
- Youtube AK Lectures for BIO (Supplementary)

dude.. 90% of the threads on the DAT discussion section refer to the most significant study materials for success. Nearly everyone who scores well uses the same materials, Its basically unanimous

All you had to do was read through 4-5 threads to know what to get.....Dont be Lazy, do the research!

But otherwise Good luck on your exam and I hope you do very well!!

I did look at quite a few other threads, and actually there were so many posts, I decided to make it easier and post my own thread in order to consolidate the responses into one spot. I appreciate your concern though!

How relevant is the year of the book you are using? I have a 2011 version of the DAT Destroyer available but did not know if it was more beneficial for me to buy the 2015 version.

I personally used the 2015 edition so I'm afraid I can't comment on what edition would be best to use.

I used both the 2011 and 2015 Destoyer. They may look similar... BUT THEY ARE NOT. I would strongly recommend getting the latest book. The old one has less problems, covers less topics, and doesn't line up as well to the rubric as the new one. I wouldn't take a chance with the old one.

Also, don't waste your time with kaplan. I did Kaplan for the first month or so of studying and it was so slow. It's redundant and not nearly as efficient or comprehensive as chads, DBC, BC, or Destroyer.
