Hello, I am new to this site. Is anyone using Kaplan review notes to study for the DAT? I have been studying the notes and doing a few practice tests and I am still having difficulty getting questions rights. Any suggestions on how to study for the DAT. I plan to take it in February 2006. I am so afraid that I will not be ready for this test. Thanks in advance for all replies.

keep going over and over the notes.
u have plenty of time.
memorize all of the bio, ochem, and gchem, and you will be fine.
the math wont help too much...
start putting in hours a day dedicated to memorizing the notes.
take lots of practice tests.

Honestly. The test is not hard. Just put in the hours. I studied for only 3-5 hours a day for 3 months during the summer. Plus I was taking breaks within those 3 hours to relax. I recommend the Kaplan blue book, all I used for organic chem and chemistry. Biology, you can look at AP bio books and you should be fine.

rather than memorizing all that material first, you should try to understand it. once you get hang of all the concepts, it makes more sense. then, u'll just have to memorize after that..

and yes, it is not that hard to score well.

The Kaplan review book is excellent--you really don't need the entire course pack, the book itself is good enough (I tutor for Kaplan). The book is concise but covers a lot of ground.

The only recommendation I'd make is for you to buy an additional source to study for the PAT. The Kaplan PAT is easier than the PAT you'll see on test day--I would recommend TopScore or the Barron's book for the PAT section.
