Just curious to hear about how everyone studies. Do you listen to music? Do you get distracted easily? Do you need to hide in the downstairs corner of the library basement for 8 hours to study for an exam😉?

Do you like to study by yourself or with another person/group?

Personally, I am not one of the types that can shut the door and just study for 5 straight hours.

Usually I go to the library, pull out my laptop, listen to music and study, troll on some forums that I will not mention, study, watch an episode of House MD, study, play Call of Duty 4, study.

Group studying, really depends on what class it is. I cannot study with a group for anatomy or physiology. Organic Chem, Physics, Math, I can study with a group for. If you have to memorize things, forget the group.

One night I grabbed my table and chair and drag it out side my yard. Grabbed my desk lap and sat underneath the stars for a great 6 hours study session.

Studying with another person is good, but I tend to enjoy studying with others that are not studying the same subject. Less talk if you know what I mean. hehe

Oh yeah and I forgot to add the amounts of caffeine consumption which is needed - which for me, tends to be a LOT🙂

play Call of Duty 4, study.

How did you manage to put those activities in the same sentence???

somehow, for me, i always forget the study part if i go that route.

because he's a troll....

library + ipod + TONS of coffee/diet pepsi

^^ that is the only way I can study and I have to study by myself, group studying wastes so much time its not even funny.

Well, being that I get kicked off of Call of Duty 4 servers pretty often for abusing the sniper rifles and using martyrdom tactics (basically after someone kills you, a grenade goes off and anyone who is near your dead body is killed as well), I get frustrated and start studying. I usually do like 45 mins studying, 30 minutes playing, etc.

flashcards 😎
spend a lot of time making them...& study whenever, wherever!!😉

I prefer to study by myself and I usually have the radio or TV on in the background. I actually prefer to study with the TV on...or even at the gym on the treadmill!

I definitely study by myself. Sometimes I turn on classical music. Music with words distracts me and so does the tv unless it is REALLY low and on something I am not too interested in. I usually pull long study days on the weekends...especially before tests. I think they usually do run 8-10 hours with some breaks (usually to eat or cycle laundry). I do my serious studying in the loft at our house where the desk is. I call it my study cave. 🙂

Pretty much ALWAYS involves a sugar free Full Throttle!

I study at a bookstore... Barnes and Noble or Borders depending. I park myslef in the cafe and study. Sometimes I sit outside too. This provides the right amount of distraction (usually not too much- depending on the time and day) and I am too far from home to get distracted by home things (i.e. cleaning, laundry television, internet). When I need a break- I will call a friend and chat for a few minutes or browse the magazine section...

Added bonus- coffee at hand.

I like to study at home. I group my studying into "sections". After each section I "reward" myself with doing something else for ~15 minutes, such as browsing the web or calling a friend to chat.

I find that if I listen to music, I am more creative with my thinking. For instance, I was listening to Damian Rice and I found it much easier to think of mnemonic devices for the bio info I was trying to learn(pcat).

Also, if I there is alot of background noise I will use noise cancellation headphones instead of some of the other headphones that allow noise to filter in.

1) Eat two foot long meatball subs so hunger won't be a distraction
2) Lock up my laptop
3) Study until dusk
4) Enjoy rest of night off

I like to study at the library on the quiet floor. I can't study in my room because my roommate is constantly typing (loudly). I study alone for everything. I don't make flashcards ever. I usually am at the library from 6:30 to midnight. Hey, that's where I'm headed now...

It really depends on what I'm studying. If I'm doing math problems or doing homework assignments, I'll work best in a bookstore or cafe while listening to music. Preferably I like studying in a 24-hr Starbucks, too bad those are scarce.
