Hello,
Can anyone study Dentistry in the US even if he has graduated from a foreign school?
I'm talking about an "American" citizen who have finished his high school abroad, in America we have certain requirements to enter this field, but but being graduated from foreign school, things will be different, will he be eligible to study Dentistry in the states at all?

Your question was somewhat difficult to understand, so I apologize if I misunderstood.

First, dental school in the US comes after college. Not high school like in many other countries.

So you can go to HS anywhere. You are expected to complete a certain number of credits at an American/Canadian university, ideally you should get a bachelors degree from a US/Canadian school.

If your native language is not English, some schools require the TOFEL.

Yeah that's what I meant, personally I'm not familiar with the American educational system and I thought it's like any other countries, after high school that is. Now I got a question, what campus should he attend to be eligible to enter medical schools? And thanks for your reply.

Again, not sure if I understand your question.

Please note: Medical and Dental schools are two different things.

Both will take classes from any ACCREDITED 4 year institution (College/University). Some will even take classes from community college.

Assuming if this individual competitively completes the prerequisite courses and fulfills the other requirements, then of course he will be able to, at the broadest sense, study dentistry at a dental school in America. There will be more paperwork when applying. Also, depending on how you view it, he will also be entitled to all the perks for being an American. If you're still not sure, then you're better off consulting this matter with the d-schools of interest.

With regards to medical school, you should ask that on the premed side of this forum.

Indeed, I know that but in where I currently live the Dental & Medical schools requirements are the same in a way. Now I got what you mean, thanks again for the reply. 🙂

I see, thanks Koalafied. It seems like pursuing the medical field is harder in America than anywhere else that I know of. 🙂
