Hello, I'm a medical student in Europe interested in doing a NSG residency and I'm graduating this year.
In November 2019 I'm beginning my PGY1 and I was wondering what were the topics that you found important to know before the start of the residency, things that you wish you knew earlier and no one told you about them.
I'm thinking about any possible aspects of PGY1's job, from anatomy to perioperative care of the patient and administrative work. It's a very broad field and I'd like to make sure that I have solid bases before my PGY1.
I have some previous exposure to the field and I regularly see young residents at work, but I'm posting it here because I have an impression that on this forum people often like talking about important things that they are not so eager to mention in real life.
