Ok, I still have not heard back from any of the schools I applied to except one rejection from UPenn. Now its time for me to stop being miserable and get ready for the next admission.

My question is:

1. Do LORs have to be fresh each year or is there a way to transfer my current files (LOR, PE, etc) from current AADSAS to next year's AADSAS process?
The reason why I'm asking is because me being a post-bacc and already finished with my pre-reqs, I really don't want to waste my time/money on taking unnecessary classes just to get a LOR which leads to my next question.

2. Those of you who have asked the same professor for a LOR more than once, were they happy to write you one? I moved to GA from TX as soon as my pre-reqs were done so I would have to fly all the way to TX to ask for the letter..what a hassle this is..

Anybody who are in similar situation, please give me some advice.
Thanks!

Hey, sorry that you are going to reapply. But it happens to a lot of people including ME.. I will be reapplying for the THIRD time ;( , so yea, unfortunately you going to have to ask for letter of recommendation again ( I was so embarrassed) but what else can you do, right? I actually had 1 Bio prof that I still keep in touch with and I see him on campus all the time, so he will probably write me letter again. The other professor for my second rec letter I will not longer use because I just took more upper science classes and already explained to new prof and he said he can write me one in june. Its all about keeping in touch. You can always call the school and request the professor's email address and write to them. They can electronically submit your rec letter I think that is easier than having to flight there. That is the way I am getting letters again. My third letter will be from a new doctor I work with to fulfill the three letters 🙂 hope this helped

Hey thanks, that helped a lot.

I think I'm still going to fly to TX to be little more polite/formal. I don't feel comfortable requesting LOR via email not to mention this is my 2nd time requesting it.

Before you fly make sure the professor know why you are meeting with them and I think it's better to start the conversation thru email first.

You don't have to ask for new letter of recommendations again. You should always keep the hard copy and send a copy to ADEA and save your time.

Ask for your LOR(s) in a PDF form.

You didn't waive your right to review them? I didn't see any of my LORs, I thought that was standard practice.

Yea thats what I thought too.
I thought you are not supposed to see your LORs.

I have a another question tho.
I know dental schools dont like credits from community college but how about a LOR from community college professor? It shouldnt matter right? since its just for the reference purpose.

I was curious about this as well. I was going to ask one of my cc professors but when I sent an email I got an auto reply that he no longer worked there. Quick google search brought up a mug shot...true story! So, be careful who you are asking for a reference.

** a stronger rec letter is the one you waive the right to review!!!

If the prof's already written your letter of rec, I'd try to refresh their memory about who I was, and I'd ask them to just submit it to a website like Interfolio. Then you'd be able to submit it from that whenever you need to. Good luck!
