I have already submitted my ERAS about a week ago. Today, I was scanning over my ERAS CV and noticed that my M1 summer research date is listed incorrectly. It should have been summer of 2009 but I listed it as summer 2008, before I even started med school...

What should I do? Is it a big deal?

I don't know how I missed it as I checked my application 5-6 times at least before submitting.

Not a big deal. I bet you 99% of people wont even notice. Don't mention it. If asked say "oh yeah. that should be 2009" and move on.

well the issue is that I mentioned while explaining the research project that this is my M1 summer research when in fact the date I listed is before I even started med school. But I suppose for someone who has to sift through hundreds of ERAS apps it might be hard to pick up. Let's just hope that's the case...

Chances are no one will notice. And if they do, explain the honest mistake. And if that's the only mistake on your application, it won't be a big deal.

If this means anything, I did the same thing for a summer school enrollment listed as summer 2009 when it was really summer 2008 on my AMCAS primary.

AMCAS verification didn't catch it, and I've gotten numerous interview invites so far. If you didn't catch it with 5-6 read-throughs, I doubt someone who simply scans your application will. You'll be fine.
