Stupid question, but I would like some input.

I don't think it's stupid. Part of fitting into a school is whether you see yourself being around your classmates. Having said that, it's up to you whether you want to limit your opportunities for research and other things by choosing a different school.

tl;dr - Am I stupid for thinking about going to a school I don't really like just to avoid people?

Unless you turn down a top school (like baylor) it doesn't matter. All the mid tiers are the same so just go to whichever one makes you happiest.

At this stage in the process, why are you thinking you'll all end up in the same med school? Figure out what your options are before you start dissing these long-time pals. Heck, maybe they don't want to go to school with you either. Just saying.....

If you really wanted to have a fresh start, consider out-of-state.

Because we interviewed at the same places and have talked about what schools we would go to if accepted. I know those 3 want to go to the same school if possible. I know I'm coming off as an ass for not wanting to go to school with them, but it's like family. I've seen them too many times, and I need a break. Theyre great people, but I just need space to try and figure things out myself. I have applied out of state, but I haven't heard back from any school, so I'll be waiting to see how that turns out.
