Without getting into a long, drawn-out background....yes, I'm an RN applying to MD and DO schools. Undergrad ed approx 10 yrs old...yes, I have MUCH post-bac/graduate ed with grades all above 3.5. (Still waiting for recent MCAT scores) Here comes the 2-cent question....realized undergrad ed is missing ONE CREDIT of Physics II Lab - have actual class, but no lab II. Obviously too late to sign up for this Fall semester to make it up (I'm taking a Biochem class this semester BTW)...should I bother for next semester? Is missing this one credit-one lab a "big" deal?

I appreciate any input....Thanks!

Depends on the school you're applying to. If they require Physics lab (and you can find this out from the MSAR or school directly) you could take the lab in the Spring. Good luck!

I have a girlfriend who is in the same predictament...she took Organic at a "quarter system" school and only took the first two of the three Organic lectures. Since that time she has taken several graduate level courses including Medical Biochemistry (taken alongside medical students). She contacted several of the schools she has applied to and most will accept the Biochem (at the graduate level) in substitute for the Organic...one would not. The point is that if you have any courses that you think might be comparable to the lab you're missing, contact the schools directly and see if they'll work with you. After all, anyone who's taken Organic Lab can attest to the fact that it's NOT that big of a deal in the scheme of things. The lecture is where all the info's at...and you've got that part!
