So I just recently received an iPad and I know that there are PDF applications that allow you to edit PDF files with highlighting and pens. While using my finger is fine for simple actions, I was wondering if anyone had success using a stylus with a fine enough to tip to take readable notes on the iPad.

Any suggestions and/or advice is appreciated

Thanks

The pogo sketch works quite nicely:

You can't get much finer, because the iPad is calibrated for fingers. This size is pretty decent with practice, and small enough to be an improvement.
Here's some vids of people drawing with it:

And here's someone's review of it:

Hey..I ended up buying this Pogo Sketch stylus. It's only $15 and it works great with iAnnotate for modifying PDF files. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go paperless for medical school.

It should be noted the iPad is NOT designed to be used with a stylus. Your mileage will vary, especially regarding handwriting.

Well, obv, but a stylus is helpful for drawing, etc. I use mine maybe twice a month.

I use the pogo sketch for note taking on my iPad, it works well. Only problem is the carbon fiber tip seems to be weakly glued on.

get "noterize" for your ipad if you read lots of PDFs or powerpoints

There's a way to create a stylus using the foil wrapper in a candy bar. Do a search on Google and maybe you'll be fine with a do-it-yourself stylus.

I did try this a while back, and it kinda worked, but not super well.
