Hey all,

Almost done first year, sitting at a 2.9ish GPA and just curious if I should step up my game in order to be more competitive for GP residencies or AEGD programs. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Wondering about this also, especially for VA residencies

Those programs typically aren't that competitive, but having better grades will give you more options as to where you end up.

um yes. VA's are especially competitive. Don't expect to get a top position with a 3.0 GPA. Strive for 3.3+ to be somewhat competitive for GPR/AEGD. if you're not picky you will find a position somewhere even with low GPA. I'd say 3.5+ is competitive. you're only D1 so you can get it up. I went up quite a lot from D1-D4 so just study hard/smart!
