Hey everyone,

So ... I'm in the process of switching over to peds from a different specialty. My question, do I have to do a sub-i in peds to get a good spot somewhere. I'd like to go to a strong academic program. I cannot do a sub-i at my institution ... how much do I panic?

i worked with a resident who didn't do a sub-i in peds (or anything at all for that matter) and didn't seem to think it was prohibitive to him....it's helpful for letters i guess, but besides that i'm not sure what all it does besides give you a 'taste' for residency.

as someone else told me, 'you'll get plenty of practice being an intern when you're an intern' 😀
