Finally got my MCAT scores back, and am happy with them (37T), so no worries there, but one of my pre-req institutions has yet to send in my transcript, despite my requesting it two weeks ago. Their web interface suggests they have not even begun processing the request. It is only one class, but since my pre-reqs are my only US undergrad credits for all intents and purposes, it will cause a bit of a swing (3.54 without, 3.6 with).

Since I haven't the faintest when they intend to process my request, should I wait until AMCAS has this one class transcript, or should I prioritize early submission? Just afraid of an automated GPA cut-off, with such a swing...

Tiimely advice much appreciated!

I have no advice to give but CONGRATS on your MCAT score!!!

Hit submit.

That puts your app in the line for transcript review. Which takes as long as it takes. They're going line by line through your courses against what you said you took.

AMCAS may or may not hold up your entire transcript review for one outstanding transcript. They used to.

Congrats on your MCAT score!

37 :soexcited:

That is awesome! Congrats.

I can only dream of such a score when I take it next year

My concern is that at least this year AMCAS was explicit that grades they receive after submission won't be factored into GPA, even if submitted before verification is complete. If I am hearing that getting in the queue is more iimportant than the GPA bump, though, I will submit pronto.

Also, thanks muchly for the congratulations. I was expecting a bit lower.

If you report that you took a class and that the transcript is required, and you submit before the transcript is received by AMCAS, AMCAS waits for that transcript.

When they talk about grades not being factored in, they're talking about grades you didn't report. Like if you take a summer or fall class that you didn't tell AMCAS about. AMCAS is just saying they're not going to update schools for you if you do stuff after you submit.

Best of luck to you.

Also, FYI, they do hold the rest of your application up. I'm waiting for one school to send as well and got an email that said my application verification process was on hold till they received it.
Also keep in mind that they're not submitting to schools until june 17 so there's still time.
Congrats on your score!!!
