My spring semester grades won't be available until June 25th or so. Spring grades probably won't make any difference to my cGPA (which is currently 3.8+) but they may bump my sGPA (which is currently at ~3.7) by about 0.02. My MCAT score is 38.

Given, all the talk about applying early, is it wise to submit the app as soon as it opens? Or is it better to wait until the Spring grades are in?

I have the same question. I'm on the quarter system and won't get my grades till the end of June. My grades will not change my GPA much. Is it okay to submit the transcript and the primary app before spring grades are out?

Also, is it necessary to update the schools with my updated transcript? Would I send it to each school individually or to AMCAS?

Thank you.

In the whole scheme of things .02 makes very little difference. Last year, I waited to submit until I got my spring grades, but now I wish I had just submitted earlier. I feel like those 3 weeks could have made a potential difference vs. a slight grade increase. SUBMIT EARLY. You can just send in an unofficial transcript as an update later on.

Thanks for the advice! Would this update just be attached with the secondaries? Or would AMCAS need to be updated too?
