I am planning to submit my dental applications this week and retake the DAT on early Sept. Here are some questions I have: If I am retaking DAT and indicates it in my application, will the school hold my application and wait until my second score to come in before reviewing them? If I plan to retake, early sept is pretty late already, do I need to get a really high score such as 23-24 on AA in order to get acceptance? Thank u!

DAT is perfectly fine to retake, so long as you are improving! Preferably anything higher than a 19AA is good — doesn’t mean you can’t get in with lower scores.

I would reach out to the school you’re submitting at and ask them in writing to put off reviewing your application until you take your test in Sept., as soon as your application is verified. There is no guarantee they will re-review your application jus because you got new scores.

Entirely up to the school whether they'd wait or not.

Yes, like 24+. September is extremely late, and I feel like you will have to reapply next cycle if you do not score that well.
