I am kind of worried about the timeline of my application. I am not taking my MCAT until 7/26. I am applying to Florida schools, and some of them send out secondaries without MCAT scores being in yet. I was wondering if it is a good idea to get verified now, and then return secondaries in July, more than a month before my MCAT score gets relayed to them?

Would I be better off waiting to submit my application until sometime in July? I know you are supposed to complete the secondaries within a couple weeks of getting them, and I would prefer not to stress over them while studying for my MCAT and working. But would there be any benefit for me to have given them everything early, even though my MCAT scores won't be there for another month?

GPA 3.85/sGPA 3.91 (summa cum laude)
ED scribe
5 years active duty military
Summer REU/honors thesis from it
good LORs

I would atleast submit for verification now if you have everything ready, getting verified takes the longest. I'm not sure if you'll get secondaries without your MCAT score? If you do, you can either work on them or not depending on how you feel. But regardless, you should be ready to go so that when your MCAT scores come in you are ready to be looked at immediately.

The fact remains that you're not going to get any interview offers until the end of August anyway, when your MCAT score comes in. At this point there's really no need to submit your application today, but you also might not want to wait until the end of July, because by then it might be taking 6 weeks for verification. If you want to time it well, maybe plan to submit your primary within the next couple weeks. You'll probably be verified by the time you take the MCAT, and while you're waiting for your score, you can be completing secondaries.

Thanks for the advice, both of you! I think I will probably do that, Ismet!
