I have read so many posts about not taking the August MCAT, turn everything while you're still in the womb, etc., and just wanted to say that sometimes procrastination isn't the worst thing in the world. I just got accepted to Pitt!

i think the apply early suggestion is simply a rule of thumb.

it's nice to see the exceptions to the rule.

Good for you, but I still wouldn't recommend it! 🙂 And I always tell people that the August MCAT is not the kiss of death. Now you can tell them applying late is not either. Care to tell us your stats? Excuse my nosiness, but somehow I suspect you must be a super-star applicant.

That's very nice of you, but I am definitely not a *superstar* (although I play one on TV....j/k). Numbers are pretty meaningless to me; everyone on SDN seems to have great "stats" and be a terrific candidate. I did get one of those letters from Pitt asking me for an interviewing before getting my secondary, which from what I've read on SDN is based on numbers, so I guess mine are pretty okay. I am neither a URM nor a disadvantaged applicant.

I have three interviews coming up in April. If there's hope for me, there's hope for everyone!

Thanks, everybody. No, I'm not an actress (though I think it would be fun to try). I just did your standard AmeriCorps, medical mission abroad type stuff. So it can be done without being an astronaut or Olympic gymnast or something. 🙂

Lady in red, they'll probably review my file at UCSF by the end of the week...so I'll know one way or another after that.

It's great to get some closure on these things....
