Submitted Primaries But Didn't Add Letter Request For A Letter

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Odd. Try posting this in AMCAS official questions thread. Maybe someone there has had experience with the same problem?

I hope so. When I created a request form, it generated a unique AMCAS letter number. Maybe it takes a day to update on my actual AMCAS page?

So this is what I did so far:

1. Letter request.
2. Submitted printed letter request form to pre-med committee.
3. Signed out of AMCAS.
4. Learned that you need to resubmit. So I resubmitted.
5. The new letter AMCAS number still doesn't show up on my AMCAS page.

hmmm....

After you signed out without resubmitting, the entry you created was not saved. Did you re-create the entry after signing on again and before resubmitting?

I didn't recreate it. Since I already turned in the letter request (with a unique letter ID) to the committee...would I need to generate a new letter request?

If, at present, there is no entry in your application for your letter, at a minimum, you will need to create it and resubmit. If your committee sends the letter with the old letter request, at worst, AMCAS will notify you that they have received a letter they cannot match to an entry and request you to indicate the correct slot; at best, they'll match it up despite the different IDs. If you feel there is sufficient time, you can also print out the new letter request and give it to the committee.

Thanks. Since I just gave it to them yesterday, I'll just head down to the office right now. They move slowly..so the form should still be sitting on the desk.

Sounds good. 👍 And make sure you submit and the entry's still there afterward. 🙂
