Submitted primary, and now about to get published?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Many secondaries include space for "additional information you would like us to consider." Just put down "pending publication correllating hamster balls to depression." Then the schools will know, or bring it up during the interview.

what does "about to be published" + "considered for publication" + "pub in progresss" mean? if you guys just submitted it, don't bother with the update.

Wait until it is published and then use this

Secondaries, update letters, and interviews.

Wait until it is published for an update letter, but in my opinion it could only help to mention you have submitted an article in your secondary or interview if it isn't published in time. You can then follow up later with an update when/if it gets published.

Pretty much everyone says that they're "working on a publication" but you having submitted it is a bit better.

I'd update schools if you can't include it in a secondary.

As the title says, I've already submitted my primary app and only now I've learned that a paper I co-authored will be considered for publication. I would have really liked to include this, at least as a pub in process, but unfortunately it's too late for that.

What are my options for bringing this to the attention of the schools I've applied to? Just work it into secondaries/potential interviews?

Thanks

You can bring the publication up in the interview or somewhere on your secondary. Best case scenario it would be a great interview topic. 😀
