Submitted today, how long to verify??

Hi everyone,

I submitted my application today. My transcripts and all of my letters were previously submitted and marked as received. My status is "ready for review".
How long can I expect before my application is verified and I start receiving secondaries? I ask not only for curiosity's sake but because I am leaving on a family vacation on Friday and will be gone one week, and I want to make sure that I will not be bombarded with secondary applications during this time.

If you aren't verified the same day you can expect at least 4 weeks because there's a huge problem if it takes more than 1 hour.

I'm not sure about when your app would be verified, but you shouldn't have to worry about that since the applications are not being sent to the medical schools until June 29. So I think you won't get any secondaries until after that date.

I'm sure you're joking. But just to clarify anyways, AMCAS must have a lot of apps to verify, so if it takes a while for an app to get verified, I would think that's because of the large # of apps, not because of any problems.

Ah well, worth a try. You'll probably be verified tomorrow barring any serious issues. I submitted on 6/5 at around 0930 and was verified today at 0900ish.

I'm wondering the same thing. My application was submitted on the 12th of June (even though I had my application in before than there was a transcript issue). I heard they usually verify within a week but it's been 8 days and I'm nervous.

They are working on applications that were ready for review June 7th. Youve got a little while to go. I think you'll be verified before the 29th, although they seem to be moving significantly slower this year than last. But dont worry, you are still way ahead of most people.

Yeah, they seem to be moving really slow this year. I submitted on the 14th and I'm pretty sure that I won't be verified by the 29th.

Thanks striveforglory i didn't notice that they gave you this information right on the website. It is strange how slow they're moving, last year apps submitted 2nd or 3rd day after it opened were verified in a couple of days.

This is false. You submitted 6/5 thats why you were verified the same day. Right now it is taking between 10-14 days judging from the verification thread. OP should expect at least a weeks wait.

Yep.

Go to print application and see if AMCAS has calculated your gpa. If they have that is further proof that you have been verified.

I just checked. They did send me an e-mail that said your application has been processed. I guess I am just confused at why it only took 12 hours to process mine. I am definitely not complaining, but it seems strange.

When was your status changed from "ready to review" to "under review"? You lucky dog, I submitted 6/10 and still silence...

I never saw it as under review. I submitted last night after volunteering and then I woke up and it said it had been processed. I was fully expecting to wait two to three weeks.

Unfortunately not, as it seems to be going much slower this year. Based on that thread I should be verified by now or within the next couple of days (submitted 6/14) and that doesn't seem likely.

I guess the speed does not matter since it's all relative to everyone else, but do guys think AMCAS will speed it up in the next couple weeks or so? They are significantly slower this year than last year.
