My preferred address is correct, but as for my "permanent address" I typed in the wrong ZIP code. Man do I feel like an idiot. You can change your preferred but not your permanent address.

So how screwed am I? Do programs mail you at your permanent or preferred address? Will they notice the subtle change in ZIP codes and think I'm a total *****? Will they not know where to send things at all?

Oh man, how could this have happened? Do they even notify you or rejections/ interviews by snail mail or by email?

don't worry! most programs will send all information by email anyway, so make sure your email address is correct. if they do send you snail mail, it'll be to your preferred address 'cause many (most) applicants are living at school and away from their permanent address which is typically their parents' house or something.

It would probably still get to you anyways. Zip Code errors happen fairly often, and there is some type of system for sorting them out. I've had numerous pieces of mail show up that were mailed to the wrong zip code.
