So I have a quick question, as far as submitting your aacomas app. how long can you wait before your not in that early batch. In past cycles they gave you all of May to get your app ready and then start of June you can submit. I am staring to feel behind the curve because people have already submitted their apps. I am ready to submit just waiting on 3 more LORs that should be uploaded to interfolio in a week. My question is does it matter a whole lot if I wait the extra week that way I can put all my LORs on my aacomas app without having to pay interfolio to send them individually to each school (I'm applying to 20 schools) or should I just submit tomorrow and foot the bill for interfolio?

you cant submit your app?...I thought you can only get it verified and ready for sub day whenevver that is

Don't know exactly how the new AACOMAS works, but can you not submit your app and then add the LORs later? I think I read in another thread that you can be verified without LORs (which makes sense, since the letters are only required for secondaries, not primary apps - AMCAS verifies without letters for what it's worth). If that's the case, then you can go ahead and submit without issue. However, to answer your question, waiting a week at this point will absolutely not impact your "early" status at all! Fear not. We're still in May 🙂 But FYI all us old geezers from LAST cycle and the cycle before that and the cycle before THAT had to pay Interfolio to send letters to each school, and we lived to tell about it.

Oh I'm not sure... I just thought once you submit the app to get verified/actually send it out to schools you cant change anything on your app. So if someone knows whether or not you can add your LORs after your app gets verified for free that would be great to know?

It's still very early. If you are a slightly below average/average/slightly above average applicant, apps should be in by early September IMO and you should have some interviews assuming your ECs/letters are solid.

His stats are........ According to his previous posts:

I scored a 26 (8,8,10) my gpa is about 3.65 for both and have solid ec's.

ECs
Hospice volunteering ~ 200hrs
Shadowing 3 diff specialties ~70 hrs (still need to shadow a DO)
Hospital volunteering will have around 100-150hrs
Did some research for a semester with gluten free foods vs non gluten free.
Worked in customer service industry for 3 years
And a few other little things

Solid GPA for DO 👍

As said above, yes.

I submitted already and have the option to add in a new evaluation, but not edit or remove a completed one.

I mainly wanted to comment on your use of the word "free". It will not be free, as you have to select at least one school - so you are looking at $195.

Gotcha thanks for the info. I will go ahead and submit today and then just add my new LORs to aacomas once they come in.

I know you have to pay for each school submission but I wanted to save on $ from interfolio because they charge something like $4/5 to send each letter to each school. And it is to my understanding that if you just punch in the interfolio email for your letters into aacomas you won't have to pay for each individual letter to be sent. Am I right in saying this?

Sending an Interfolio packet costs $6 per transmission - you cannot send it this way to AACOMAS.

Sending the letter using the document email (I assume this is what you mean?) by entering it into AACOMAS costs $4 per letter.

Basically what @Crookster (and I), want to know is...how do we transfer our IF documents to AACOMAS?

@asdf123g

If you looked just a few threads down you would see someone typed it out recently.

Oh okay thanks, that makes a lot more sense. So $6 sends all my letters to one school from interfolio? So I would pay $6 x 20 schools = $120 to get all my letters to all the schools I'm applying to?

Versus

Paying $4 per letter I have 5 letters = $20 to have them uploaded to aacomas to be sent to all the schools?

Yes, $6 per school.

Or you can try the document email strategy and pay $4 per letter, once. Unless a school is not taking the AACOMAS letter service, then you will need to deliver a packet separately.
