I am from Canada and going to be applying to US dental schools next round.

I am writing the Canadian DAT this Feb. and I am also thinking of doing the American DAT soon after that.

I am wondering if I submit both next application cycle, will American schools look at both scores or just look at the American DAT score?

It would be nice if they could look at the better of the 2!

Just do both versions and just submit the one you do better in, simple...no need to complicate things.

The reason I am asking is because at time of registration, they ask you to choose which schools you want your transcripts sent to and I already chose the American schools I want to apply to when I registered for the Canadian DAT.

I would make sure that the schools you are applying to in the U.S. accept the Canadian DAT. I'm not sure if all the schools do or not. In that case, you will need to submit both scores.

well when I applied, 2 yrs ago, MOST US schools accepted Canadian DATs...because Canadians are cool 😎

HappyTeeth - HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍 👍 i'm thinking they'll look @ both scores... if u do fine on your cDAT's, then I don't think it's necessary to do the aDAT's. But if you feel, after your cDAT's that you could do better (because the aDAT's might have components that u might excel in i.e. phys chem + math), then do the aDAT's & send the scores... but i'm guess u better prove that u improved on your aDATs...

if that makes any sense @ all.
email me (i think u've got my email   ), since i rarely go on this thing these days

UIC only accepts the US DAT. It would probably be wise to check out the websites of the schools you plan to apply to. That way you can make sure you don't waste money!
