I already put my primary application in this cycle and just got my MCAT score back (9P, 9V, 10B -- 28P). I feel like my MCAT score is the weakest part of my application as I have a 3.85 GPA, 3.72 SciGPA, patient contact hours (700), medical volunteering and shadowing (200 hours), and strong letters/PS.

If I retest on 9/9, will the schools still look at that score in their final discussions? I'm just thinking that I will complete the secondaries, potentially interview, and hopefully have a higher MCAT score to report by the time they make their final decision. I'd rather not delay my application until I get my new score because I wouldn't be complete until mid-October.

So my question is - will they look at the updated score if I'm still in the running for a seat?

THANK YOU!!!

For all schools that consider a September MCAT take, if those schools know you plan to retake, in general, they will hold off considering your application until the new score returns in October.

Did you go back into the AMCAS application and change the final planned MCAT date to 9/9? This is one of the few things you can change. Then recertify, and resubmit. You will not lose your place in the verification line.
