It looks like I will have everything in (processed tmdsas, secondaries, lors etc) for Texas medical schools by beginning of August.

I know that Texas schools tend to give out interviews earlier than other schools. Am I screwing myself by submitting everything by early August? I have seen some people already get interviews from couple Texas schools so I am getting worried.

I am new to tmdsas so I am not as familiar with it as I am with amcas.

Yes, get everything in as soon as you can to have the best chance at interviews. 90% of the interviews go to those who have submitted their primary by the end of July. If you will have all your primary, available secondaries, and supporting documents in by the first week of August you will be in good shape. A few of the Texas schools do secondaries by invitation only.

Do you happen to know if there is a tmdsas verification thread anywhere? There is one for amcas but I can’t find one for Tmdsas. I guess I just want to see when I will be verified approximately. I feel like my app will be ready for submission around Independence Day.

Best way is to follow TMDSAS or TMDSASsupport on Twitter. Every day they post something like "Today we are working on applications submitted on June 10"

Review the information posted on the TMDSAS website. Yes, you would be putting yourself at a significant disadvantage as only 7% of applicants who submit in August are interviewed. Compare this to 38% interviewed who submit in June, and 19% who submit in July.

@suomi24 these stats refer to submission of the primary, which OP plans to do in just a few days.

The statistics you’re referencing is for the submission date of the primary TMDSAS application. OP is referring to being complete at each school, which includes having submitted the secondary.

OP, having everything in by August is fine and likely ahead of a good portion of applicants. I submitted all my secondaries by late September and it didn’t affect my application and interview invites very much (if at all.)

I'm a current second year at TCOM. I interviewed at three other schools in Texas and a few OOS schools.
