Subspecialty Preference?

If a program asks if you are interested in a particular subspecialty before your interview (ie. they have asked to indicate preference when u respond to their invitation), what bearing does this have on the residency interview? I may be interested in a child & adolescent fellowship but am not 100% sure at the moment. what should i tell them?

Tell them you may be interested in a child & adolescent fellowship but are not 100% sure at the moment. 😎
The only bearing this has on the interview is to show that you have some idea of what psychiatrists do and some vision of where you might fit in the breadth of psychiatric practice. Just like med school, they know you're as likely as not to change your mind, depending on the experiences you have in residency.
