Hey guys,

Since pco/ico allow you to include the repeat grade in you're transcript, would repeating introductory courses in which I obtained a C be a good idea ?

Im gonna apply with 90 credits, so its important I have a good GPA, and it seems as if retaking lower division courses is the best way to do that, since most of the damage to my GPA was done during my freshman year.

thanks

advice from OSU admissions (may not apply to you, sorry...): do not repeat a lower level course unless you genuinely need to relearn the material. It looks much better to take a higher level course and get an A than get that A in the repeated course. Don't waste your time and money, many people get accepted with C's. Improve your gpa and score well on the OAT. Also, talk to admissions at the individual schools, each one may be different.

I agree with IDr10, there is no need to retake the course unless you are struggling in a higher level course for which the one you're considering retaking is a prerequisite. I had 4 Cs and was accepted to OSU, IU and SCCO and while I did retake Gen Chem 1, I fealt that it wasn't worth it because the GPA increase was pretty small anyway. As always, the safest bet is to call the schools individually and ask the admissions people about specific classes.
