I don't understand. The MD/PhDs are contained within the MD data (see the bottom) and there's no separation of MD/PhD and MD figures within this table. To say that MDs aren't cutting it would require that MD/PhDs are receiving more money than MDs, and that's not shown in the link.

Opps, I guess I'd better read more carefully next time. Looks like I'v emade the arguement for getting the PhD only. But I'd be willing to bet that most of the "MD" money is in fact MD/PhD money. I'll look into it and get back to you😉
 
yeah ... it's dead even. all it would indicate to me is that it makes little sense to get into an md/phd program if you intend to do only research for reasons of grant competitiveness [there are other more compelling reasons].
