Okay. I am literally so bored at my job that I need some reading suggestions. Anything from actual medical school books (jump start?) to fiction fun reads. I know, I need to seek help. But I'm just so bored during this year off (I've literally rememorized the krebbs cycle) I need some filler. Thanks in advance.

Im the same way. I've been reading some medically related books for leisure. Lol not textbooks or anything. Neurosurgery is my dream specialty, and even though there is a big chance I wont end up in it, I still love reading books written by neurosurgeons about the field, their daily lives, and so on. I am also hopelessly uneducated on stuff about politics, so I've been trying to read some super approachable books on the subject. I'm currently reading "The Declaration of Independents" which has been interesting so far. Also, pick up a hobby you're interested in. I've always loved electronic music, and Im teaching myself how to make it using the software the pros do. I can spend hours messing around, programming synths and making sounds. Spend the year wisely!
I suggest Cutting for Stone, a newish novel about a mission hospital in Ethiopia.
Nonfiction, especially for people interested in Neurology, are Phantoms in the Brain, Ramachandran, and anything by Oliver Sacks (but especially The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Musicophilia)

This is your Brain on Music by Daniel J. Levitin.. Seriously an awesome book. He goes into a lot of depth here and there..but nothing too technical.

Good book about the AIDS epidemic before and during the time they were figuring out what it was. Very personal about the doctor's relationship with his patients and the doctors own life.
