I dont have alot to spend on MCAT review books so Im hoping to get my bucks worth. I am planning on taking the MCAT in january so I need something that has a roughly 3 month study routine. I read mixed reviews on everything from EK to TPR and gold standard so Im lost as to which to buy. Any advice is appreciated.

I have a complete set of Kaplan MCAT review books that I'll give you, if you can throw me a few bucks for shipping. PM me your address if you're interested.

For content, you can rely on free videos/websites like wikipremed assuming that you are going to be home-studying. The internet has tons of websites that can provide you on stuff on each subject.

I suggest you spend your money on practice materials and practice tests. (This is where you can improve and really prep for the real deal)

TPR Science Workbook
TPR Verbal Workbook

EK 1001 series (each book is about $20-25 on amazon and have 1001 questions each)
EK 101 Verbal ($25 on amazon)

AAMC Official MCAT Book (practice problems from the actual writers... $45 for both the book and one AAMC exam)

Practice tests:
AAMC 3 (free)
Gold Standard 1 (free)
Princeton Review (one free test on their website)

Gold Standard CBT 2-10 (I got them for $70 by bidding on ebay from their company seller and it was a 3 months subscription) This is pretty cheap considering that AAMC tests are $35 each and TBR sells 3 tests for $100.

Good luck!!!

I bought a complete set of TBR (minus VR) for about 120. I had to erase the pencil markings the owner made, but I'd say it was a great deal.
If I sold that now, I'm pretty sure I'd be able to even make money off of it.
So buy something used (after making sure you get an accurate description of the product), study, then sell it.
(or you could download pdf versions through..not strictly legal methods..Which I'm not recommending.)

If you really can't even afford that, I think a lot of people here would recommend Wikipremed or Khan academy, which are all free online resources.

Have you checked with your school? They might have free resources. Please DON'T save when it comes to the MCAT. As someone else suggested, resale value is high. If you buy the right books you can sell them back for 60-80%.

If you buy all the EK prep books on amazon it comes out to around 130 dollars. I studied exclusively off of those and did pretty well.
