Hey Guys,

I would really appreciate some advice on what my next steps should be.

So Here are my stats.

Graduated Undergrad 2009
uGPA: 2.5
BCPM: 2.4

Past Two years I have been working in marketing.

Extracurriculars:

Started and am Current Board of Director for a Non Profit Organization.
2 Yrs of Research in Dermatology Lab
Over 80+ Hours of Volunteering (ER Room, Clinics, Etc)
President of a Student Association Group at local University
Many more stuff..

Bottom line, my GPA is very low, and it's simply because I did not take my undergrad as serious as I should have.

I would like to go back to school whether its a post-bacc program or masters and try to go for medschool whether its a carribean program, DO, or MD.

I am thinking of going back to my local Uni and retaking my Pre-Med classes, starting from the beginning for Fall and Spring. And than apply to a reputable post-bacc program than eventually medschool.

Let me know what you guys think?

My only concern is that if I were to retake all of my Pre-meds, than I would be retaking some classes for the 3rd time. So What should I do? I know it's been two years since I have been out of school and some premed courses it's been 3-4 yrs since I have taken them. Basically I would like to start on a clean slate somehow.

Any suggestions?

You have found the answer to your question by posting in the postbac section.,...Definitely consider taking a post bac program, and aim high in your MCAT. Good luck

It is going to be hard... It is going to be tough and you will have to accept that it is going to take time... But... If there is a will, there is a way. Just maintain your stamina and endurance and you can make it happen.
So, my thoughts...
Do everything in your power to get the highest score that you can possibly obtain on the MCAT. Do not take the test until you are 100% ready.
That means months of prep on content and a month of practice exams.

A clean slate would be grad school. (not a completely clean slate--but it does have something to that effect) I would focus on an acceptance to a SMP with a bridge to a med school.

Type in the correct phrases into the google search engine....what i mean is.... Do your research. Stories of how "they did it" may come up and give you some insight.

And...whatever you do...do not lose focus and do not let anything else in your life get in the way...i mean not one thing!
