Hi,

I am a MS-1 in the beginning of a Hematology block who needs a little more help. I'm having a hard time following along with our lectures. I like Pathoma, but I want to know if anyone has recommendations for other resources that also have information about things like RBC production and catabolism in addition to anemias. I think I'm having trouble because it doesn't feel like I have enough background information or context. Thank you, I really appreciate any suggestions.

This is one area I found boards and beyond superior to pathoma. Lots of overlap though.

If you’re an MS1, this is just how systems feel at first. It’s like your teachers all assume this is review and totally easy right?

Second this. Just finished the BnB heme onc section and it's pretty comprehensive.

Thanks for the tip.
It’s our first system so it’s definitely different. We have a bunch of pre recorded lectures that are kind of all over the place with minute details. But I’ll just check out b&b tomorrow.

Yeah that’s typical at my school. When you’re through you’ll wonder why they didn’t organize the same lectures in a more logical way lol. This is one of the reasons why there’s so much “focus on boards” fandom on this site. At least at my school, a lot of the lecture order has to do with the instructors schedules and not a ton to do with what’s most conducive to learning. Good luck!
