I would wait to purchase any books unless you know the exact textbooks your school will require. I just received a list of Required/Recommended.

Here's a quick sample....
Anatomy - Clinically Oriented Anatomy (Moore/Dalley)
Neurology - Dental Neuroanatomy (Fuller)
Histology - Basic Histology ( Junquiera)
Biochemistry - Basic Medical Biochemistry: A clinical approach ( Marks)
Physiology - Human Physiology ( Sherwood)
Microbiology - Medical Microbilogy & Immunologg (Levinson/Jawetz)

ANATOMY.{gross} - Netter's for an Atlas, Moore & Daley for a text (but this text is way too detailed for anyone to read it for a one-semester course) NEUROLOGY - The Human Brain by John Nolte HISTOLOGY - Wheater's Atlas; Gartner and Hiatt for a text EMBRYOLOGY - Saunder's Embryology BIOCHEMISTRY - Marks is good but I think it has way too much info for dental biochem, could also try Brownie & Kernohan b/c it is a much shorter book and more geared towards the dental boards PHYSIOLOGY - Berne & Levy (never read it though) PATHOLOGY - Robbins; or you could go with Kumar's text book, sometimes referred to as "baby Robbins" b/c it has the same info as Robbins, but not as in depth; Kumar is more than plenty for the dental boards MICROBIOLOGY - never touched a text for this class; a good review book for this course is Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple, although this book doesn't cover any dental pathogens DENTAL ANATOMY - Woelfel & Schied
