Just to add to this (maybe more for future interview seasons as opposed to this one), I've worn a royal blue suit with black buttons to most of my interviews and received nothing but compliments for it - from the residents, PDs, coordinators, etc. And at top programs, too! Honestly, I think as long as you stay away from bright colors (like red) or neon ones, you're fine.
