Summer 2009 programs for high school students interested in medicine

Mmmm, google is your friend.

I did a People to People Future Leader's Summit on Medicine. I did it at Johns Hopkins because that was closer, but I think they had a few different places that you could go. I'm pretty sure you have to be nominated by your principal, but if you get all the forms and some chocolate chip cookies together, you can probably convince him/her to nominate you, since they can nominate a pile of students.

It was probably the coolest thing I've ever done! My year we had a "patient" who needed a liver transplant, and we had to convince a transplant "board" that our patient was the one that needed the liver most. All of the staff were medical students, pre-med, or nurses which was AMAZING also.

I have applied for two and got accepted into one so far. Waiting to hear back from the other. For both of these programs you need to be nominated. Ask your science teacher.
