Summer activities

So I'm not going to be at my uni over break, I have to return home. I've lined up a research gig at a uni close to home and I plan to be there fulltime over the summer. I as well plan to shadow and take a few general ed classes at a local cc. What are some other activities that you did/would do for the summer after 1st year?

Maybe read some books, see some movies, and generally relax and live your life. What you've already set up is solid and probably more than you need to do. Good job.

Thats a ton of stuff.

I highly suggest volunteering your time. Even if its just the weekends for a couple hours. If you go on Volunteer Match there are plenty of opportunities.
