I was hoping to start a thread where people could share what they've done in the past or plan to do as far as tips to stay focused on Step I studying this coming summer. I take the test at the end of June. During the year I get distracted very easily, mostly line.

I've turned my wireless card off, but invariably I turn it back on. I use google Chrome so lately I've started adding time-wasting sites (not this one, of course) to the blocked list.

Any other suggestions/plans?

I'm getting a locker at the library (where I'll be doing my primary mode of studying). I plan on leaving the computer and iPhone in the locker until I am ready to do UWORLD questions.

I'm right there with you on getting distracted. I'd leave it at home if I could.

Take NBME's regularly (once a week) and glance at your UW averages when you feel like you're getting tired/unmotivated. That ought to do the trick.

My computer is definitely a distraction, and I've taken to just closing it when I'm reading. It's a lot less tempting to sneak a look at a website when it takes me about 30 seconds of passwords and wireless connecting to do so. Sometimes I wander down to our living room for a change of scenery. How sad is that?

"take a break" option in google labs, it makes your gmail account unavailable for 15 minutes. Keeps me away from gchatting and wasting time.
