I'm a senior in HS, but I want to look ahead as Summer is approaching.
Any ideas where and how I could get an internship/ summer work that is pharmacy related? I wish I can be a pharmacy tech, but I need a certificate for that?
Any ideas help.
Thanks!

Go now and visit your local pharmacy to see if they have openings as like a pharmacy cashier. That's probably the only job you can possible get in the pharmacy without a pharm tech license.

Depending on which state you're from, you can just purchase Delmar's Pharmacy Technician Certification Review book at amazon.com to get certified to be a pharm tech. I live in TX so there is no formal training required to be a tech. I studied for about 2 weeks straight, took the exam, then register my certificate number and got fingerprinted/background check with my state to be licensed to work as a tech.

Since it's only Feb, you can get all of that done by summer time. If you have any more questions, just PM me.

Thanks for your response!
After I purchase the review book, where do I go to get certified? (i haven't purchase the book yet, but just looking ahead). What's the process and approximate turn around time? Thanks!

ptcb.org. Don't know about the turn around time, but the earlier you start the better.

I'll second edenstarlite's suggestion. Without a license, the most you can do is probably volunteer (or if you're fortunate, get paid) to be a clerk. Still a good experience as you get a first hand look at the profession and what it entails, plus you get to talk with a pharmacist. Some people go to a vocational school to get their tech license but as edenstarlite said, you can just buy a prep book online or at barnesandnoble's and just study it for a couple weeks and take the test. I believe you only need a 650/900 or so to pass, so it's not terribly difficult.

Thank you so much!
...it's also really hard to get the Pharmacy cashier position 🙁

Ya getting a job in a pharmacy is gonna be tough! i would try to volunteer of shadow. And keep in mind that MANY ppl get accepted without having ever stepped behind the pharmacy counter. Also volunteer at local health fairs, at the hospital, a clinic, nursing home, Red Cross, HforF....anywhere! I can guarantee that'll help out your application!

I would highly suggest becoming a pharmacy technician. Even if you can't get a job, pharmacies will be more willing to let you volunteer/shadow if you have a license. You can then use your volunteer experience to get a job ^^b.
Volunteering in a pharmacy will help you understand why you want to be a pharmacist or if you would prefer another profession.
