Nothing except to say good luck. Stay on top of your studying, and maybe do a good review ahead of ochem. Are you really going to fly out to another state just to take the ochem series?

I took summer Ochem. It was pretty brutal, at the time. Looking bad now from MS1, I only wish I could have the lax summer of full time work while ochem in 10 weeks and starting a new relationship with the gorgeous woman I would later marry.

I would say, go for it if you feel that you have strong study skills and a bit of a GPA buffer.(i.e. don't take it if you NEED an A or if a B would be incredibly detrimental.)

Also, it would serve as a good 'gut check'. If you are miserable during a summer Ochem class, I would really give some hard thought to the idea of medical school. By that I mean; if you hate life by taking 6 credits of 300 level material in 10 weeks, you will def not like taking 32 credits of 500 and 600 level material at roughly the same rate.

Good luck!

I'm wondering why you'd need to leave your home state to take the course.

I took Ochem in the summer. Each class was 4 weeks. I didn't think it was that bad. You do have to study a lot- pretty much just consider it a job. If you put in the work you will do fine, if you aren't willing to put in that much effort don't try it. Good luck!

Why am I leaving my home state to take ochem? It is not offered in the Alaska school system during the summer. This is the only class I have left to take and do not want to sacrifice another year of work taking the class next school year. I am looking for info on those specific programs I have listed. I already consider school to be my job and am thrilled at the idea of knocking these 8 credits out in 2 months!!

The joys of being from Alaska that everyone else takes for granted. 😀

Ochem 1 probably wouldn't be too bad, Ochem2 is another story.

Bond angle and degree of saturation? Carbocation rearrangement? Substitution and elimination reactions?

Not that bad.
