Hello everybody. I'm considering a future in anesthesiology and was wondering if anybody out there could help me find something to do over the summer in Southern California? Possibly an internship? research project? Unfortunately, my summer break is only 6 weeks.

Email the department heads of various schools and tell them who you are and that you would be interested in working on a research project/intership. Make sure you mention the part that you are NOT looking to get paid, but just want the experience.

That's what I did and ended up spending 2 weeks of my summer after M1 rotating through the SICU/Anesthesia and have been working on the same research project for 2 years now. You get good clinical contacts and people to write you letters when you apply for residency this way too.
