As a pre-med student, the ideal part time job would be an assistant in a medical office or something related to the medical field; however, would it still be okay on the application to work in something totally non-related---say a bookstore clerk, an office assistant, etc?
It probably wouldn't draw too much attention from admin officers since students hold temp jobs all the time, but most things I've done in the past have been public health or medical related (aside from interesting volunteer opportunities), so I'm wondering if this will stick out like a sore thumb...heh
Thanks:)

A job is a job when you need money. There's nothing wrong with finding any job you can get, especially if it's related to your interests.

During interviews, a cool job related to your interests will lead to a better conversation than suffering through some awful job you got just because you want to be peripherally related to medicine.
