hello everyone!

I just finish 2nd year and i’m ready for clinics to start full time next fall! I’m on break for 3 months and this is pretty much my last free summer.
Now i got the opportunity to go work in a clinics in Egypt during 6 weeks for volunteering (obviously, i would be under close supervision and not be doing anything i’m not capable of nor feel confortable doing. It’s also a non profit so the clinics or the program don’t get money for me to be there.). I think this opportunity could really help me dentistry wise and help me gain if not skills, at least confidence. I’ve been to Egypt before and it’s not a country i particularly enjoy but whatever!

However, i’m thinking that maybe i should just take my last summer completely off of dentistry? I mean,. I will be doing dental work for the rest of my life, maybe i should relax/travel and not risk being burn out at the end of the summer?

So basically, big first world problem but what would YOU do?

Can you get involved in a research project? or volunteer with free dental clinics in your area? you tend to get good experience (i.e extractions) without the expense of traveling abroad. Or, you could just do nothing.
