summer plans after D1??

What do D1's (soon to be D2s) usually have planned out for the summer? This excludes the people who are studying for the boards.

Research, dental assisting, or... nothing?

Oh DEFINITELY nothing for the majority of my 8 week break.

But I just recently landed a job assisting my oral surgeon. Sweet.

That's sick! how did you go about getting a job like that?

My GF had her 3rd molars extracted in early June and I went with her. When she went back the next week to have her stitches removed, he asked her what I was doing this summer and if I had a job. I did have a job but now I quit that one 😛

It seems like either he's expecting a lot of visits over the summer months or maybe his assistants will be taking vacation hours so he wants me there to fill in the gaps. Either way I have a sweet job now.

No we take mock boards in Jan. And then we have the semester to get them done.
