MS1's, what're you guys doing this summer? Research? Work? Volunteering? Or just straight maxin' and relaxin'?

Getting married, doing a required two week preceptorship and then chillin.

Probably getting back surgery if I can't get it done before that. :/

If I get the surgery out of the way earlier, probably work/research as 2nd job/making sure my wife knows I still love her.

Actually that third one will happen regardless of what else is going on.

You DO NOT need research to get a good residency, but, if I did it again, I'd do a research project at some prestigious place, like Sloan Kettering or something. It's nice to be able to add something to the research/pub section on your eras application.
