I want to recommend the Summer Institute for Psychiatry a VCU in Richmond to any of you who are mentoring med students. It's a superb and in depth introduction to the field with great lectures and clinical rounds in many of the subspecialties. All expenses are paid except transportation to the program.

My home school is weak in Psychiatry and so this program provided me with invaluable insights that would've been otherwise unattainable until residency. We put so few applicants into the psych match tha the only likely way for me to spread the word is via this thread which was intentionally generalized in its title.

I also heard good things about it.
