I'm currently a premed student taking Gen Chem II this spring semester.
This means won't be taking Organic Chem I until NEXT Spring...a big problem since I really want the professor teaching Organic Chem I this fall. He is (highly recommended by his student) and only teaches Orgo I and II (fall and spring).
I plan on taking Gen Chem II this summer so I'll be able to take his class in the fall; however, this summer internship program I applied to conflicts with the summer chem class schedule! It will be very difficult to do both since they slightly overlap.

Would it be better to just forgo the summer program and take the chem class since I can volunteer at a hospital on my own anyway during the summer? It's really important that I take his Organic Chem class.
Thanks! 🙂

It's a volunteering-based health program.

I had a similar situation. Take the chemistry class. Seriously is a lot better to get general chemistry done ASAP and go straight to Organic.

Thanks! I think that's what I'll do. Take the Gen Chem II + lab since its being taught by my Gen Chem professor I (which I'm taking now) anyway. 🙂

do both maybe you can talk to the people in both programs and find a way to do it. its summer, unless youre working youll have tons of time

If there is no way to fit both into your schedule, I'd definitely go with finishing up general chemistry over the summer in time for organic in the fall. From personal experience, having a good professor makes a world of difference and it's best to go through that whole sequence while it's still fresh in your head.
