Hi, I wanted to see if anyone had any information on summer internships programs. I was looking at a few programs; there is one in UCLA, UC Berkely, and a lot of other top schools. Most of the programs offer a $3000-4000 stipend and provide housing. Some common names are SURF, Amgen Scholars Program, etc.
But I am afraid I might not be competitive enough to get accepted to one of those. My oGPA is 3.3 and science is 3.46. I've already asked two professors to write me a recommendation, so I have those taken care of.
Does anyone have any information on how competitive these programs are. Perhaps if you have been in one before you can give me more information on if I have a chance.
