Have any accepted students on SDN been invited to become a research fellow at the University of Minnesota?

It seems like it is a fantastic opportunity (and hopfully fun!)

Invitations are sent on a rolling basis (so I've read), and I'm still holding out for a possible invite!

I didn't receive one, although I don't think I would have wanted to do it either. I'm planning on spending a lot of time at the cabin in my last free summer.

It's the last time we really get to relax!

Although, I'll be working up until the first day of class, so I view it as the last days before we're studying 24/7. 😛

Oh I'm definitely going to be working this summer, but I'm gonna cut my hours back a bit as I'm not making that much anyways. Probably try to do 24ish hours a week so I can just make a bit of money to cover some food/alcohol/fun expenses.

One of the girls who joined the University of Minnesota Class of 2015 facebook group said that she received an invitation to participate in the summer research program some time in December.

Though I would very much like to receive an invitation for the research program I have not heard anything yet. I was selected for a different summer program however.... some sort of a summer orientation to dentistry program as I understand it - anybody else get/accept this offer? Either way I'm excited to get started on my dental education!

I know that UMN has an intro to dentistry class (lasts about 1 weekend?). It's a great opportunity to explore the sim lab and do valuable prep-work that will help you in dental school.

I wish I had gotten that opportunity. Did they notify you in your acceptance letter?

I'm pretty excited about it! I got an email out of the blue from Dr. Lopez a few days before Christmas inviting me to take part in it. I don't have any background in dentistry aside from shadowing, so I'm thinking it will be a nice transition into the actual dental curriculum.
